Jessica Lawson is a Fiber Artist, Teacher and Costume Maker for the Film Industry. From Pattern making, sewing, knitting, weaving natural plant dye and beyond, Jessica has a passion for her art and is always exploring new mediums.
In her private art practice Jessica seeks inspiration from nature, using found objects in her work from foraged plant dye material, sticks and branches for weaving and small shells worked into embroidery. Most of the textile finds its way into sewn garments or display pieces like wall hangings.
Jessica teaches Waldorf style fiber arts to K-5th grade students at El Rio Community School. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, a small dog and way too many plants. Check out her Instagram for more of her work. @JessicaSews
